Our Mission
Pets bring warmth, happiness and love into every home they touch. Even more than that, they bring a sense of hope and healing to the individual and families that love and care for them. And when that individual is a child facing a serious illness or a family trying to create a new normal, that bond becomes extraordinary.
It’s a bond we’ve seen firsthand: When a rescue animal and child connect instantly, their spark lights up the entire room, and they become more than pet and owner – they become family.
Every day, they bring joy and happiness to one another – from the moment the child wakes up every morning and is greeted with kisses and love to when their pet curls up next to them as drift off to sleep together, each happy and peaceful as they lie by each other’s side.
This no-holds-bar love is given freely and equally – and always without hesitation. Their dog or cat just wants to be with them. For both child and pet, it is a joyous escape from the every day, and makes the day a little brighter and better because of it.
This is a bond and relationship that lasts forever, and one the family continues to cherish every single day. It can bring a glimmer of hope to even the darkest of days, and offers a lasting legacy to carry forward.
And at Pets for Patients, it is a responsibility and mission that we take up with pride and passion. We move with purpose, ensuring that all our families are matched with the right rescue animal to create that forever bond. This can only be accomplished because of the hard work and determination of the passionate community that shares our vision – from our board to the volunteers, supporters and partners that have joined
our call.
A Lasting Bond
"When you adopt an animal you alter the course of that animal's life by providing it with a loving home and unconditional love, but with Pets for Patients that love is amplified. An animal has found a forever home, and a patient has found someone to love them when times are tough - unconditionally. And that changes their life and their family's life too."
